Svatoňová, Lenka ; Gruber, Jan (advisor) ; Marková, Dagmar (referee)
The presented bachelor thesis covers the topic of mobbing. This phenomenon can also be labelled as psychological terror or bullying in the workplace. The first part of the bachelor thesis is theoretical and describes how the term mobbing arises and the history of the term mobbing. Then it describes what the term mobbing means and what similar terms include (bossing, staffing). The thesis further focuses on the causes of mobbing formation, the phases of mobbing and their progress. The thesis also deals with the consequences of mobbing and with the possibilities of mobbing prevention and solutions. The empirical part includes a quantitative analysis of mobbing occurrence and mobbing awareness among employees. Then it compares if there are any differences between the state administration and the commercial sphere. The sample involved 100 respondents from the state administration and 100 respondents from the commercial sphere. The analysis discovered low mobbing awareness and differences in mobbing occurrence between the state administration and the commercial sphere.

NURSING STAFF{\crq}S EXPERIENCE WITH MOBBING AT THE WORKPLACE
KAMASOVÁ, Simona
NURSING STAFF{\crq}S EXPERIENCE WITH MOBBING AT THE WORKPLACE Every kind of abusive conduct at work, such as denigrating behavior, gestures, acts, or words qualifies as a form of violence. The World Health Organization counts violence amongst the world{\crq}s severe public health problems. Unfortunately, mobbing {--} which one of the forms of chicanery {--} is far more common than we tend to acknowledge and the general society is willing to admit. Although this phenomenon applies to all spheres and groups of employees, the most affected sphere is the health care sector. Mobbing creates an unhealthy atmosphere at the workplace and therefore cannot be tolerated or overlooked. Moreover, it has unforeseeable consequences for the victims{\crq} health, as well as on the organization/company and the society. My goal was to do a survey of the knowledge registered nurses have about mobbing at work. With this goal in mind, I formulated the first hypothesis. Nurses are aware of the fact that mobbing as a term is not limited to physical violence alone. They know that mobbing can affect everyone of us and they do not consider its occurrence a negligible problem. Furthermore, I wanted to find out whether nurses have a personal experience with mobbing. This question led to formulation of my second hypothesis. The point was to find out when the nurses experienced or were witness to mobbing. This was linked to my third hypothesis, which presumed that newly hired nurses were the most endangered group in this context. Finally, I wanted to find out whether the nurses knew how to solve the problem of mobbing. In connection with this question, I formulated my fourth hypothesis {--} namely, whether nurses are able to share or participate in measures against mobbing. This undergraduate paper consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains descriptions of different forms of violence, the relevant factors and phases, as well as the types and characteristics of mobbers and their victims. Consideration has also been given to the consequences, prevention, and applicable legislation. As for the quantitative aspect of my survey, I used the method of an anonymous questionnaire containing 37 questions. As respondents, I approached the nursing staff in a medical institution in the Vysočina Region. A total of 226 correctly filled-out questionnaires were collected. The results of the survey confirm all four hypotheses. The results generate a challenge that managements of medical institutions ought to give some consideration.
Mobing and bossing the workplace
MANETHOVÁ, Jana
Mobbing and bossing represent vexation at a workplace, which unfortunately affects also health care and health care teams. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out knowledge of the terms mobbing and bossing, as well as occurrence of vexation at neurosurgical departments (Intensive Care Unit, SIP and two standard departments) in the Nemocnice na Homolce hospital in Prague. In order to fulfill these aims and hypotheses, the method of quantitative data collection by means of questionnaires was chosen. The questionnaires were filled out by physicians, medical nurses and medical attendants, both by women and men. The aims of the work were fulfilled. It followed from the results of the survey, that almost one third of respondents was not familiar with the terms mobbing and bossing, or they could not define them accurately. It was found out after mapping the occurrence of vexation at workplaces that a majority of informants did not know, where they should turn in case of occurrence of mobbing and bossing. The first hypothesis on more extensive occurrence of vexation towards women than men was confirmed. The second hypothesis regarding the knowledge of how to fight mobbing and bossing was not confirmed, as the respondents were not familiar with possibilities of how to cope effectively with vexation at a workplace. After the review of all filled-out questionnaires it followed that in case of occurrence of mobbing and bossing the leaving from work is preferred more than active defense against colleagues, or superiors. We believe that a workshop on the topic of mobbing and bossing would be welcomed by a majority of respondents. They would clarify for themselves the difference between vexation and powers of superiors, but also possibilities of active defense.
